[2] Mapping Design Thinking through digital methods: my thesis research

"Design thinking" is a term whose use has spread in recent years — its definitions have multiplied and a rich and dynamic debate about its nature and value emerged among a variety of actors.

In my Master Thesis, I tried to offer a new point of view on the controversy using Digital Methods↗, an approach in which natively digital data and methodologies are re-proposed for social research finality. I focused on diverse online environments - Google, the online publication platform Medium, and three Academic Search Engines -, developing for each one a specific protocol to extract and visualize data of interest.

This research highlighted clear tendencies and relevant actor clusters in the debate. The resulting observations are consistent with the historical evolution of the phenomenon and have been validated by some experts, supporting the contextual value of the chosen methodological approach.
